Aram Guzman, CFA

Aram Guzman was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and spent his formative years in South Florida, where he completed his middle and high school education before earning a Bachelor’s in Finance from Florida International University (FIU) in Miami. Aram holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, which he earned in 2013. The Chartered Financial Analyst course is offered by the CFA Institute and is considered to be the gold standard for finance professionals and investment management.

Aram pursued a corporate career in finance, progressing through several key roles. He began his career providing fund administration services to alternative asset managers, including accounting, financial reporting, investor servicing, and compliance. From there, he transitioned into private banking and wealth management, gaining valuable experience working with ultra-high-net-worth clients.

His career then advanced into treasury and liquidity management, where he focused on portfolio management and risk management, overseeing portfolios valued at up to $1.9 billion. He was responsible for defining the appropriate structure of the bank’s balance sheet, preserving adequate liquidity, managing interest rate and credit risks, alongside strategic financial decision-making. His last corporate position before joining Improving Lives was as Portfolio Manager for the treasury department of Mercantil Servicios Financieros Internacional, managing assets totaling approximately $790 million. Prior to that, he served as the Credit Portfolio Manager in the treasury department of Amerant Bank NA.

 

In addition to his finance expertise, Aram has extensive experience in investor relations, having prepared periodic investment reports and performance summaries for shareholders, executive committees, board committees, and other stakeholders.

Aram is passionate about mental health and raising awareness of mental health issues. He is excited to contribute his financial expertise to a company that actively serves and helps the community. Aram lives in Miami with his wife, Cristina, and their dog, Monchi.
